Applying Ophidia: the EMSO-INGV case study

This demo shows some of the activities performed within the INDIGO-DataCloud project ( to import seismic data in SAC, the Seismic Analysis Code format into Ophidia, a big data analytics tool for the analysis of multidimensional data.
In this simple example the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) is calculated on a time series recorded by a broadband seismometer installed on a seafloor observatory. The FFT runs on single PC with SAC and then with Ophidia and compare the two cases. Ophidia can be a useful processing tool for seismological data.
